How to make money as a blogger
Have you seen all those ads telling you how to make money as a blogger? Gotten sucked into a conference or an ecourse? Invested years of your life trying to squeeze a few bucks from adsense?
Yeah, I did all that too. And I’ve gotten checks for blogging, but they weren’t big enough to pay my mortgage or buy groceries even. And I spent a huge amount of time and energy trying to figure it out.
But, I don’t do that anymore because I don’t really think that you can make thousands of dollars of passive income as a blogger. Not really. I’m sure lightening strikes here and there, but if you look behind the curtain, you’ll find that there are some different realities.
The secret to making money as a blogger is to stop trying to make money as a blogger and to start using blogging as a means to make money for your real business.
And your real business might be as a coach, psychic, multi-level marketing salesperson, therapist, makeup artist or app designer. But, it isn’t “blogger.”
Most bloggers, if they are making any money at all, are doing it from sales from their blog, or using their blogs to establish credibility and expertise in their industry so that they can be hired as a consultant or spokesperson.
Even bloggers who claim to be making money as bloggers aren’t getting fat checks from adsense or affiliate fees so much as they are being hired as consultants on how to make money as a blogger.
So, if you’re into blogging, I have a question for you … do you have something to sell? If not, you’re just on a hamster wheel and don’t know it yet.
I can help you figure out what you have to sell, how you can package it to make a profit and how you can use your blog, newsletter and social media platform to do it.
