  • a child is abused or neglected

  • a vulnerable adult is endangered

  • there is a credible threat of violence

These exceptions do not create a therapist-client relationship.

6. Internal Support Sharing (Important)

To provide you with continuity, stability, and effective support, ESL team members may share limited, relevant, non-clinical information internally.

This may include:

  • your preferred grounding/calming strategies

  • communication style or triggers you’ve shared

  • whether you prefer direct insight vs. gentle listening

  • brief summaries of prior conversations

  • resources or ideas that were helpful in the past

  • safety-relevant information you disclose voluntarily

This internal sharing:

✔ is NOT clinical

✔ is NOT governed by HIPAA

✔ is only used to support YOU more effectively

✔ is shared only among ESL peers

✔ is never shared externally

✔ is not stored long-term

✔ does not create medical or therapy records

By using this service, you consent to this type of internal support sharing.

This is one of the primary benefits of our service, as it reduces the need for callers to retell their story repeatedly.

  • payment records (required by law)

  • minimal internal support information temporarily

We do NOT keep:

  • clinical case files
