The Girl Revolution
I designed an innovative, progressive way to raise empowered girls. Empowered Girls have an identity that can withstand the pressures of living in a 21st Century Information Age. What I now know, as my daughter goes off to college, is that my grand experiment in parenting methods WORKED!
In 2007 I had a pre-school girl and was devastated by the idea that trashy marketing and media would be guiding the definition of what it means to be a girl. The media onslaught telling them they are sex objects, combined with outdated submissive wife roles can make growing up a confusing and often treacherous experience.
I launched a website to empower girls and called it The Girl Revolution. I wrote a book in 2009 and didn’t dare publish it. I was too afraid of criticism of my revolutionary ideas.
In 2016 I wrote the second half of that book about conscious parenting in an age when all of the formulas have failed us. The second part of the book also addresses how you can teach BOYS to function in a world with conflicting ideas about masculinity.
The Girl Revolution Manifesto is a worthy read whether you’re parenting a son or daughter, advocating for children in any capacity or re-parenting your inner child.
