1. Not a Crisis Line
The Emotional Support Line (“ESL,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is not a crisis hotline.
We do not provide:

suicide prevention services
-
emergency mental health support
-
crisis intervention
-
safety monitoring
-
dispatching of emergency responders
-
welfare checks
If you are in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself or others, you must immediately call 988 or 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you feel unsafe or in imminent danger, do not use this service.
2. Not Medical or Mental Health Care
ESL provides non-clinical emotional support only.
We are not licensed:

therapists
-
counselors
-
psychologists
-
psychiatrists
-
social workers
-
medical professionals
We do not:
-
diagnose any conditions
-
provide mental health treatment
-
offer medical advice
-
modify or recommend medication
-
create treatment plans
-
perform crisis evaluations
Any insight or feedback shared is supportive in nature and should not be considered professional advice.
3. No Duty to Monitor or Follow Up
ESL does not:
-
monitor caller wellbeing
-
track callers between sessions
-
provide check-ins or safety follow-ups
-
initiate outreach
-
supervise caller behavior
Your wellbeing remains your sole responsibility.
4. Mandatory Safety Exceptions
Although ESL is not a clinical service, we may be required to disclose information to appropriate agencies or law enforcement if we believe:

you intend to harm yourself
-
you intend to harm another person
-
a child is being abused, neglected, or exploited
-
a vulnerable adult is being abused or endangered
-
your statements include a credible threat of violence
-
a valid court order requires disclosure
These exceptions do not create a therapist-client relationship.
5. Limitations of Support
ESL team members may provide:
-
emotional validation
-
nervous system co-regulation
-
reflective conversation
-
support, empathy, and grounding
-
insight and perspective
-
resource ideas
ESL team members may not:
-
create safety plans
-
provide therapy or therapeutic techniques
-
diagnose trauma or mental illness
-
interpret symptoms
-
advise on medical or psychiatric treatment
-
contact emergency services on your behalf
-
communicate with third parties about you
Calls are for emotional support only.
6. Caller Responsibilities
By using the service, you agree that you will:
-
call 988 or 911 in any emergency
-
seek clinical or medical help when needed
-
use the line respectfully
-
accept the non-clinical nature of the service
-
maintain your own safety
-
not rely on ESL for crisis management
You are responsible for your decisions and actions.
7. No Liability for Crisis Situations
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ESL and Sioux Ink LLC are not liable for:

crises occurring during or after your call
-
failure to seek emergency care
-
actions or choices made based on conversations
-
emotional or psychological outcomes
-
reliance on supportive insights
-
delays or unavailability of the service
The service is provided “as-is” without warranties.
